💜
Last week, I had the chance to attend an incredible NMIXX concert in Paris…
And experiencing it, I thought an article could really help you prepare for yours.
From organization, freebies, outfits, and the atmosphere, here's everything you need to know to fully experience a K-pop concert ✨
🌏 Understanding K-pop culture
Before preparing for your concert, you can also discover the origin of freebies, banners, and lightsticks, which make K-pop so rich.

🎟️ 1. Getting a ticket
K-pop concert tickets sell out very quickly.
👉 To do:
- monitor announcements for future concerts (newsletter, Insta, fanbases..)
- plan the ticket sale date and time and set an alarm to be ready when the time comes (tickets sell out very quickly)
- have a good internet connection
⚠️ Very important: never forget your ticket (paper or digital) on the day of the concert
🎒 2. Essentials to bring

In your bag:
🎟️ ticket
📱 phone
🔋 power bank (essential)
💡 lightstick
🍬 snacks
💳 card / money
a pack of tissues
👉 Your phone will be used all day → a power bank is essential.
👗 3. The K-pop outfit
In the K-pop community, the outfit is part of the experience.
You can:
-recreate an idol's outfit if you have sewing talent, by getting inspiration from photos
-create your own style, check if a dress code is recommended (e.g., pink and black for Blackpink, sky blue for TXT, ...)
- but above all, prioritize comfort, and plan for cold weather for the long day ahead
👉 The most important thing: feeling good 💜
🤝 4. Meeting fans

Before the concert, you can:
-meet other fans (check if fan base meet-ups are planned, sometimes the day before or on specific Discord groups) at a designated location or in front of the concert hall
-collect your banner designed by the fan base or agency
-exchange freebies
👉 This is often where the best memories begin.
🎁 5. Freebies received
Photocards, bracelets, stickers…
👉 Each freebie is a unique concert souvenir, and fans are very creative in making them
🎀 6. My freebie preparation
Before the concert, I also created my own freebies

-handmade (here I made personalized beaded bracelets, inspired by the group
-you need to think about it well in advance, determine how many you want to make and plan the material
-when you make them: you're already thinking about pleasing the fan who will receive it. If you don't like crafting or lack time, you can hand out a note, a treat, a sticker, a photocard... you need to use your imagination!
👉 A way to participate in the community 💜But nothing is mandatory and everyone also agrees to give without expecting to receive
🎶 7. The concert atmosphere

-The atmosphere is incredible, with intense shared energy
-the connection with the audience is strong and touching: groups often exchange a few words with the audience, there's a translation (and they make an effort to learn a few French words)
-the performances are impressive: that's when you realize how many hours of intense work the singers have put in to perform with incredible individual and group choreographies while singing perfectly live (most of the time) chaining songs without a break (especially for the Nmixx group, they really get the atmosphere going)
👉 A unique experience because each concert is unique
🏛️ 8. The venue
The Pleyel Hall lobby

Before the concert:
-scout the area, see if there are restaurants if the concert is in the evening (or if you need to bring a snack)
-plan your transportation before and after (metro, bus schedules..) an Uber or taxi?
-locate nearby parking if available, if reservations are needed, check opening/closing hours..
🚨 9. Check the rules
Before going to the concert: consult the venue's website, check what items are allowed or not,
❌ umbrella, fan, bottle, alcohol, sharp or dangerous objects
❌ large bags
❌ camera
There are scrupulous checks at the entrance by security who will not hesitate to confiscate prohibited items
✔️ cloakrooms or lockers are sometimes available, but for a fee, inquire in advance
🍜 10. Plan your meal
-eat before entering the venue (be careful if you choose a restaurant on site, allow for waiting time... it might be very crowded and therefore a long wait
-or bring your snack with you and eat before entering the venue (food is prohibited inside)
-there are usually refreshment stands with food options, but it's expensive and the choice is limited
👉 important to last all evening
🚆 11. Organization
Most concerts take place in Paris:
To plan:
-transportation (I went to Paris by car to the hotel parking lot) to enjoy 2 days in Paris, then I traveled by metro (preferring line 14) and Uber after the concert to return to the hotel
-accommodation: I chose an Ibis hotel because it had secure and affordable parking, well-located, quiet for resting. Budget (cost of transport, meals, and potential accommodation)
-plan your availability (check if you need time off)
⚡ 12. After the concert

After a K-pop concert…

📱 you watch your videos
🎶 you listen to the songs again and love to share your experience with passionate friends, or on social media, with new contacts made
👉 and you already want to go back
